Privacy Policy

We, Ubigreat, Kruisstraat 2, 1740 Ternat, Belgium, VAT BE0778.407.974, privacy@unblnd.com, hereinafter ‘UNBLND’, attach great importance to the protection of privacy and personal data of all users of our website, website application and application, hereinafter ‘Services’.

This privacy policy, hereinafter ‘Privacy Policy’, applies to the processing of your personal data as a natural person via our Services and applies to all potential, current and previous users of our Services. It does not apply to the processing of anonymized data or company data.

1. Which personal data is processed, and why?

1.a) Prior to launch (Subscription)

We launched our app on October 1, 2020. You may have submitted your information before this date or you subscribed your email after this date. One could leave their email address to get notified when our Services will become public before launch date. Now this email address is used as subsription to newsletters. Someone that leaves their email adress, is called an ‘Enthusiast’. The data that is gathered for each Enthusiast is:
  • Email address;
  • Estimation of IP location (location of your internet provider). UNBLND's Services strongly depend on location, as such you will get notified when more Services are public within your geographical area or tailored location-based information.

1.b) After launch

Our services can only be used by registered users. By registering to our Services you acknowledge:
  • being older than 18 years old;
  • respecting other users their privacy decisions.
During your registration you have to provide:
  • Username to be used as identifier within chat groups;
  • Email for login purposes and notifications;
  • Age group is necessary as basic information towards other users;
After your registration we strongly advise to provide:
  • Name (first name and last name) to gain credibility towards other users and verification of your identity;
  • Sex narrows down potential connections. By default UNBLND provides Services irrevelant to sex;
  • Activities can narrow down your feed;
  • Personal profile consists of a description, pictures and connection to social media to gain credibility of your identity towards other users.
To identify you as a specific user we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to email, google_id, apple_id. The app does use third party services that may collect information used to identify you.

Insufficient information to identify you as a person can lead to a ban and/or block of your IP address. Providing false or misguiding information is against our Policies. If needed legal actions will have to be taken.
All users of UNBLND can only find basic information about other users. The basic information does not contain pictures, name and location details. A user stays anonymous as long as the user wishes. This basic information is restricted to:
  • Age Group with max. 5 year variance;
  • Whether you are closeby with max. 5km variance;
  • Your response rate;
  • How long you are a user;
  • How many connections you have made.
Solely by mutual agreement you will share your personal profile with registered users to whom you connected. This mutual agreement can be achieved by ‘UNBLNDING‘ each other. As such the registered users with whom you will get connected cannot access your personal profile unless you gave an approval. Your personal profile can contain following:
  • Connections, made by you as user, to other social media containing personal pictures;
  • Profile description filled in by you as user;
  • Your name as filled in by you as user in settings.
  • Your uploaded pictures
Furthermore, UNBLND can process your personal data in the capacity of controller for the following purposes:
  • To secure and optimize its Services;
  • To manage your account and execute its Services;
  • To answer to your requests addressed to Ubigreat;
  • For research and statistical purposes;
  • For marketing.
Prior to a meeting in reality make sure:
  • You confirm other users' identity by asking for more personal information, access to other social accounts, requesting an UNBLND (like explained here);
  • Your set location for a meetup is a public place;
  • Other people in the group are joining;

2. What are cookies and how do we apply them?

Cookies are text files that are placed on your computer in order to collect standard Internet logging information and behavioural information. This information is used to track visitor behaviour on the website and to draw up statistical reports about the website.

3. Service Providers

We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons: To facilitate our Service; To provide the Service on our behalf; To perform Service-related services; or To assist us in analyzing how our Service is used. We want to inform users of this Service that these third parties have access to your Personal Information. The reason is to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.

4. Security

We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. This policy is effective as of 2021-07-19.

6. What rights do I have?

  • Right of access:
  • You can ask us which personal data of yours we process, why we process them, which personal data categories we process, with which third party categories we share your personal data, where the processed data came from and - if applicable - which reasoning we use when processing personal data automatically.
  • Right of rectification:
  • Every user can currently correct his own account details via the account settings. In order to keep your details up to date, we request you personally edit your details. Misleading in false personal information is against our Policies.
  • Right of erasure:
  • You can ask us to delete your account. By doing so, you will no longer be able to use our Services.
  • Right of limitation of processing:
  • In the cases provided for in Belgian and European privacy legislation. When the processing within our Services is limited, your personal data (except for storage) will only be processed with your authorisation or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another private individual or legal entity or for reasons of public interest. After obtaining this processing limitation, we will always notify you before the processing limitation is lifted.
  • Right of transmission of the data:
  • You have the right to receive the personal data provided by you in a conventional, structured and machine-readable form and you have the right to transmit these personal data to a different controller, where the processing is based on the legal bases authorisation or contractual relationship..
  • Right of rectracting one’s authorisation:
  • If the processing of personal data is based on an authorisation basis, you, as a user, have the right to retract your authorisation at any given time. You can do so by cancelling your account.
  • Right of objection:
  • You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data only if the processing is based on public interest or a legitimate interest. You also have the right to object to the processing of your personal data for marketing purposes. This is currently possible by opting out for the desired merchant via the account settings. You also have the right to file a complaint with the data protection authority.

7. How can I exercise my rights?

You can exercise your rights by sending an email to the responsible party of processing your personal data, being the controller. In order to prevent each and every unauthorised disclosure of your personal data, it is compulsory to send your request from the email address linked to your account. The controller shall dispose of one month to respond to your request. This period shall commence when the controller has received your request and disposes of all the necessary information to respond to your request. The controller shall provide the requested information free of charge. In the event requests are unfounded or disproportionate, in particular due to their repetitive character, the controller may charge a reasonable compensation or refuse the request. This Privacy Policy is governed by and must be interpreted according to Belgian law. Only courts of the judicial district of Ghent have the jurisdiction to hear disputes. For the sake of completeness, we would like to inform you that you have the right to file a complaint with the data protection authority (for Belgium: https://www.dataprotectionauthority.be/) in the event the controller does not respond to or refuses your request or if the controller’s response does not meet your expectations.
